All we want is information and what you change in basic English and this is not good enough. You can now purchase an Ultimate Edition, granted the Ultimate version has a vast amount of content added. The costume packs annoyed me. Sony tell us nothing, the only reason i still have a ps3 is coz its a good solid consol unlike the plastic xbox crap. Sony have some seruous issues with communication and security. If there was a better consol out there id have it over ps3.

You could at least just come out and say it fixes the issues caused by 4. Which is it? People on the US forums have stated it is still broken! Time during days off is highly regimented nowadays! So you still have to sit and wait for it to download and patch? That's what im trying to get at, not wether it's done 4 or 10 times a year. Haha holy shit I just remembered.. And there you guys are railing on me because 'it's silly that you have to pay for this' when infact if your on Xbox you already do!.
Even if you don't pay for gold it's still super fast and not a hassle at all. The free version of Live does the same exact thing, wtf are you talking about? I do not own a xbox, if you read the comments rather than just jumping on me about the slightest bit of fanboyism then you would of seen that.
I wasn't aware that you have different subs nor did I know you get the same service regardless which is excellant. But at the end of the day what keeps the microsoft servers running faster than the Sony servers would be the monthly subs that millions of Xbox owners pay right? Or are they naturally superior?! So thats my point, you guys pay for quicker downloads and I pay for a service that auto downloads and patches all my games without me having todo anything simple right?
This isn't just about bandwidth. The firmware updates download quick enough. Sony's patching system is just poorly designed. The whole XMB is just ridiculous when it comes to installing downloaded items.
Why do I need to actually install a game after downloading it from the PSN? Can't it install on the fly while downloading or just automatically install it after the download is completed? I think a fair amount of it is down to bandwidth also wether your on wifi or not is a huge factor as the PS3 wifi cards are crap more so with the fat PS3's.
Nowadays, gaming press focuses on irrelevant stuff rather than what really interests me: games. I have noticed the xmb has been going ridiculously slow since the last update. To the point where it won't even load a message.
I've had more updates on the PS3 in a month than I have in over 6 months on the Why on earth do they keep bothering us with stuff like Vita connectivity, browser improvements, software patches etc!? And yet those few updates took away a netflix feature and added ads.
The last few ps3 updates added stability and security. There's only been two update to the PS3 this month. The has had 3 in the past 6 months, the October one being a "software stability" patch and the one today fixing the performance.
PirateThom has been telling the truth on this site for years. He just needs an auto-agree on his comments from now on. They should all be optional or come on game discs. This bullshit where I spend minutes waiting for a firmware update before I can do anything just gets old real fast. Only takes a min to download! Just wish it was for something worth mentioning. PSN software updates and the interface accompanying it are absolutely the most annoyingly clumsy processes I've encountered in console gaming.
I switch on my PS3, pop in my game disc, start the game, game loads, informs me there's a software update for the game. I update, wait for install, restart game, game loads, informs me there's a PSN software update, I have to exit game, software update, wait for software install, restart game, game loads, informs me I have to exit game to sign in and agree to new terms Takes more than 15 goddam minutes to get a game started.
Oh no! Get over it dude. It's just a game. Oh no, not 15 minutes. This is the longest amount of time shorter than 15 minutes and 1 second I can imagine. This update fixes problems with the internet browser. I can now download and install themes directly from the Ps3 browser again.
